The Ten Commandments Idol of Aurora, MO
Its seems that Jim Luce's Idol of the Ten Commandments still stands after tornados swept once more thru his neighborhood. It still stricks me funny that those Christians who makes such graven images of the Ten Commandments don't bother actually to read them. Here are two of them:
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
(Exodus 20:4-5)
Mr. Luce violated these commandments by engraving the Ten Commandments into stone. Further, He and other Christians have been observed praying at that site. To pray is to bow one's head. Also, he maintains and keeps clean the site of the idol thus he is serving them.
And I wonder what the penality for idolitry in the Bible is.......?
Of course, these Christians who take on the Law show that they have no faith in the liberty taught by Jesus of Nazareth who abolished the Law.

Peace, bro
While I can see (and agree with, to some extent)the point of view that this edifice is an idol to some of the people fixated on it, I must disagree with your contention that Jesus of Nazereth (peace be upon him) abolished the law. He quite clearly stated that heaven and earth would pass away before one dot of the law would be altered. It was Paul who spoke of abolition of the law and Torah, which he mocked as a "yoke and a bondage"....In very marked contrast to most of Jesus' disciples, most notably Jesus' brother James (may god be pleased with him).
Anyway, how are the ozarks? I went fishing and camping at Ozarks Lake quite a while back but don't know the area very well. I live in the mountains in Northern Arizona.
